It’s an honor! The favorite pictures of our volunteers
Since its foundation 35 years ago, the Overbeck Museum would have been inconceivable without voluntary work. From the very beginning, a large group of people have been involved on a voluntary basis, making the museum’s lively everyday life and steady growth possible in the first place. Currently, around 55 people volunteer to supervise the museum at weekends and a further 10 volunteer on committees such as the Management Board and Supervisory Board. It is impossible to say THANK YOU often and loudly enough for this.
Volunteering usually happens behind the scenes. We want to make it visible and show: Look – without these many great people, it wouldn’t work! For the 35th anniversary of the Overbeck Museum, our volunteers will decide which pictures will be shown.
Favorite pictures, almost unknown works and special treasures – anyone who has spent so many hours volunteering in the exhibition rooms has a special relationship with some of the artworks and can tell us something about them. That’s why the artworks are accompanied by short texts from our volunteers telling us what the work means to them personally.
