Looking Back

26 April — 28 June 2015

Eva Boehme, Christine Böttger, and Ina Overbeck – three artists from Bremen, who can look back on a rich creative life, and show their works. The works from different decades reveal the individual development and diversity of each artist. Despite all their differences, they have in common the continuous artistic work over a whole lifespan and the broad spectrum of their work. All three take up the subject of the landscape again and again – each in a very different way.

Eva Boehme has been working as a freelance artist for 35 years. In her at times large-format works, color and movement meet in intensive, dynamic constellations. Bright colors and transparent materials make the light visible. At the same time, working on several layers of acrylic glass enhances the depth dimension of her pictures.

Christine Böttger worked for many years as an art teacher but never neglected her artistic work. In paintings, drawings, and collages she explores the latitude of fantasy and landscape. Again and again, she deals with the atmosphere in nature: with cloud formations, winter impressions, or the geological phenomenon of the end moraines.

Ina Overbeck worked throughout her life as a graphic designer. Experienced in a variety of artistic techniques, she created mainly prints but also produced countless drawings and travel sketches. Her striking, often humorous image design testifies to her talent for permeating the world with an artistic eye.
