Cloud Show - Benjamin Beßlich
Clouds have occupied painters for centuries. Their volatility, transparency, and constant shifting make it a very special challenge to capture them in paintings.
Benjamin Beßlich approaches the cloud motif in delicate drawings. Skilfully used lines, hatchings, and omissions create sculptural cloud mountains that capture not only precise meteorological manifestations but also the respective unique atmosphere and vein of light.
Also in the paintings of the Worpswede painter couple Fritz and Hermine Overbeck the clouds in the sky often play a major role.
