What is nature? With inexhaustible artistic curiosity and great clarity, Akkela Dienstbier explores how overwhelming diversity and beauty arise from the smallest elements.
In her works, she combines plant material and man-made objects, wild growth and order. A wide variety of materials and techniques work together to capture the essence of nature in aesthetic reduction.
In conjunction with well-known and lesser-known works by the painter couple Fritz and Hermine Overbeck, a diverse and nuanced view of nature and landscape emerges—and of what it means for our thoughts and feelings to perceive nature in ever new and different ways.
