The Time of Now – Contemporary art from Worpswede
Worpswede is for friends of the arts the epitome of landscape painting around the 1900s. But the place offers more than just a glorious past: Artists live and work in Worpswede until today and deal with our present time in their works.
Four of them now exhibit their works in the Overbeck-Museum together: Viktoria Diehn, Christoph Fischer, Franziska Hofmann, and Christine Huizenga not only pick up the pervasive subject of nature and landscape in their work but also reflect on very different levels the reality that surrounds us.
In the juxtaposition with works by the couple of painters Fritz and Hermine Overbeck arises a panorama of artistic points of view, combining the complexity and variety of contemporary art with the traditions of classical landscape painting.
